Great Food with Wonderful Sunset Views
This hidden gem has been serving the best all American cuisine for years at fair prices given the prime, prime ingredients they use. If you want to treat yourself to a fine dining experience in a classic, sort of old-fashion, manner this is the place. The menu is conducted with care so you will be able to fine items to appeal to even the most finicky diner. Don't expect a lot of pomp and circumstance stuff, only great food and excellent service with no over the top bowing and scraping. The exterior of the building is simple and sort of waterfront old Florida and the interior is simple, straightforward and very un-sleek . . . in other words, you will be comfortable in a jacket or shirt and shorts. The sunset views are striking. Enjoy!
Food and Service (Nick) what outstanding! We have been coming to the Blue Heron Restaurant for over 30 yrs. Throughout this time there have been three different owners but the quality of the food and service have always been extraordinary. I had the duck and my husband had the salmon. both were delicious. the price includes soup, salad, entree and dessert.Salad was prepared tableside. this restaurant is not to be missed.
Perfect in All Ways
Whether for a special occasion as was our case or just a night out, the Blue Heron is a delightful, relaxing and absolutely perfect place to enjoy really good food and service. Alex does such a good job in providing guests with the perfect setting. The lobster thermidor, a special when we dined there, is truly special, in fact more than we could eat that night. It provided a more tha enough for lunch the next day. The escargot were divine as was the shrimp cocktail. I really enjoyed the special fish chowder. It's prix fixe and somewhat on the high end but worth every penny. A perfect place to dine and enjoy.
Wonderful food and service. Meals are all 4 courses and all inclusive in one price. Great presentation and attention to detail. Waiter very knowledgeable and attentive. Not cheap but well worth it. I had the grouper special and wife had twin lobster tails. Great location waterfront on Isle of Capri.
Blue Heron on Capri
Great Restaurant, fixed menu, not a lot of seating so make sure you make reservations early. GREAT food!
The Blue Heron truly is a hidden gem, definitely one of the best experiences in terms of food and service in SWFL. The staff was pleasant, the atmosphere as well as the location was outstanding. The food was phenomenal starting from our appetizer through the desserts. I highly recommend that you visit the Blue Heron if you are around. I personally know the owners Mr and Mrs Alexander whom are exquisite people that have made dining there a wonderful experience.
Worth the trip to the Isle of Capri
We really enjoyed our meal. The menu had a nice variety with several fresh seafood options, steak and lamb. I had the shrimp stuffed with crab. The shrimp were big and there was a generous amount of large lumps of crab. It was good. The atmosphere was pleasant and simple. Service was prompt if not a touch rushed. Their boat dock can handle up to 60 plus feet vessel but call ahead to make sure there is room that day. Some reviews say the menu is pricey but we found the value was there for the quality and amount of food served. We will come back.
Best restaurant in 2 weeks
Pricey, but worth it for a really lovely night out. Small, intimate and relaxed atmosphere . Perfect location to view the sunset, with window treatments opened and the view pointed out to all the guests the last few minutes. Servers very helpful, all the staff friendly. Spreads, soup, salad, main course and dessert all included, although price depends on main course choice. My ahi tuna was delicious and my husband raved about the tenderloin with lump crab. Excellent key lime pie. My only disappointment was a limited selection of wines by the glass. I tried two different wines, neither exciting. And a taste was not offered, however, the server does pour a hefty glass. Definitely overall a special meal
Great Food Great View
On the water, on the Isle of Capri between Naples and Marco Island is a little gem of a restaurant with great food and a great view. The menu is all inclusive, soup, salad, entree and dessert. There are enticing appetizers as well, but with ordering the full menu there'd be no room for them unless you have the metabolism of an 18 year old.
wow sitting at the water's edge drinking my pre-dinner drink then knowing a full coarse dinner await. Food Incredible, service incredible, atmosphere incredible price incredibly high. Worth it for all those special occasions.
We dined here at sunset yesterday. We enjoyed the quaint, pleasant atmosphere; the friendly service; and especially the excellent food! The lamb was not only beautifully presented, it was delectable. The cioppino is the best we have found on or near Marco Island.
The staff is excellent, food is great. First time, chance find, riding around Isle of Capri and saw this place! Reviews on Trip Advisor were good so decided to give it a try. Luckily it is the off-season so early dining without a reservation was easy. Great dining experience.
Happy New Year
My husband and I are visiting from Tennessee. Looking for a wonderful meter home in SWFL. We decided on the Blue Heron because it was on the water and seemed like the kind of place for a New Year’s Eve dinner. We were not disappointed. Very good service and food. The blackened scallops were amazing! We’ll most definitely return.
Recommended by Mike, the concierge at the JW Marriott. We had a nice sunset view over the intercoastal waterway. The food was great. We'll be back again!
One of the best meals ever
My husband took me here for my birthday. It did not disappoint. Every bite we took was wonderful, from the trio of appetizer spreads to the divine desserts. My husband had the ciopino. I had lobster thermador, a hard-to-find lifelong favorite. We ended with the clearly homemade creme brûlée and brownie sundae. It was one of the best meals we have ever had. I appreciated the 5 course inclusive meal. Yes, it's expensive but you get more than you pay for.
A recommendation that lives up to and exceeds expectations
As an annual culminating dinner for our trip to the Naples, Florida area, we try to have a romantic and elegant meal. The Blue heron has been recommended to us for several years. We finally listened and our wishes were met with incredible success. The Blue Heron is in the Isles of Capri, it is a small restaurant that is exquisite in atmosphere, food and service. Our waiter (Jessie) was professional and very informative. The staff was attentive and always available but never at our elbow. The sunset at the 7:30 sitting is worth the wait. The food and wines were wonderful. A salad and dessert comes with the three course meal. A Black Grouper special and a "surf and turf" were delicious. Dinner for two, lasted 2 hours and was never hurried. Only wine and beer are served, and the wine list meets all needs. This was a truly outstanding dinner, one we won't forget!
There were eight of us. We tried so many different things. The salads were excellent. The main courses were all very good. We had tuna, duck, for cioppino, and a variety of other dishes. Everything was very well prepared. Next we had deserts. We had sorbets, bananas foster and different ice creams. All were delicious.
So worth every penny!
Delicious! Lovely wine and excellent food as well as service. TIP: Go for the beautiful sunset view. While visiting, this was by far the best meal we had. I definitely recommend the Surf and Turf! If we are ever in this area again, we will absolutely return.
This restaurant was a accidental find for us...and what a great find it was. Bring your wallet because this is not an a-la-carte restaurant: For $60-$70 per person, the menu offering is a delight for the palette....a selection of complete meals that include soup, salad, entree, dessert. All of the food we ordered was over-the-top delicious. Tomato & Basil soup was outstanding; the baby-green salad gave a choice of blue cheese, Parmesan or tomato topping with a very nice balsamic base. My husband ordered crab cakes as his entree, and he said this was delicious with chunks of crab meat. I had a tenderloin steak, cooked to perfection with a crab meat topping and Bearnaise sauce. Yum! Of course vegetables accompanied the entrees. Dessert finished off our meal and with a glass of wine each and a 20% tip that was well deserved, the dinner was $90/person.
Great food and ambiance
Blue Heron is a small restaurant with great food and a wonderful atmosphere. You are served several courses including a choice of some very good desserts. The cioppino seafood dish was outstanding. I would highly recommend for a special occasion of fine dinning and would make reservations.
